Welcome to the Key West Food Guide

Hi, I’m David. I live in Key West, and I eat my way around the island. This site is where I keep track of the food and drinks worth your time: the happy hours that actually save you money, the seafood worth ordering, and the places locals go when the cruise crowd thins out.

Start with the happy hour guide. Everything else here is a bonus. 🌴☀️🐓

Where to Eat in Key West: Start Here

Key West has a few hundred places to eat and drink, and most visitors have three or four days. You do not need a list of all of them; you need the short version from someone who eats here year-round. This is how I route friends when they visit, based on what kind of meal they are chasing.

Drinks and Apps Without the Tourist Markup

The Key West Happy Hour Food Guide is the reason this site exists: 70+ verified happy hours with times, prices, and what to order at each, updated as things change. If you read one page here, read that one. Some start as early as noon, so plan accordingly.

The Classics That Earn It

Louie’s Backyard can be hard to time a reservation, but the Upstairs Cafe gets you the same ocean view without the hassle.

Eating Like You Live Here

The local dining specials page tracks resident deals, most requiring a local ID. Visiting instead? In summer, the summer dining specials are where the island’s best restaurants quietly discount; in early fall, the slow season rundown covers who closes for break and who stays open.

Between Meals

When you need to justify the next meal, things to do in Key West covers the island beyond the plate, from a local’s angle. Planning around a holiday? Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year each have their own pages, and Fantasy Fest gets one before October.
