Chef Brandon has prepared a wonderfully light, refreshing tapas-style menu to set the mood.
The dishes are elegant and sophisticated, with quite a few incorporating fresh Florida Keys seafood that one would expect.
The upstairs cafe at Louie’s Backyard in Key West is in good hands with Chef Brandon at the helm. If you get a chance to speak with him, do. You can clearly hear and feel his passion for cooking.
Blake was phenomenal and kept us well informed, provided extraordinary insight, and served us with attention, kindness, and a smile.

– Truffle Fries with Smoked Gouda Fondue & House Made Ketchup
– Curry Seared Scallops with Spicy Ginger-Garlic Vinaigrette, Roasted Corn, Five-Spice Roasted Pork Belly & Asian Barbecue Sauce
– Truffle Lobster Risotto topped with Prosciutto & Roasted Tomato
– Chef’s Catch of the Day (preparation changes daily) which was Bread Encrusted Black Grouper with Ricotta Asparagus Gnocchi, Balsamic Glazed Wild Mushrooms and Prosciutto
– A few glasses of Pessimist California Red Wine
– A sample of “Cherry Garden” Dark Cherries, Fresh Basil, Hendrick’s Gin, and Fresh Lime Juice
– A Caribbean Rum Punch with Rhum Barbancourt, Fresh Lime Juice, & Splash of Bitters topped with a Dash of Nutmeg
* Note – the scallops are two to an order. I begged and pleaded for the extra one 😉
