During the slow season in Key West, a few restaurants close for various reasons every year.
It could be for yearly staff breaks or vacations, time off to recoup and regroup, construction and maintenance issues, dodging hurricane season, or just because it is the slowest time of the year.
I have seen people ask which places do this, so I thought I would write this post. Remember, it is the low, slow, and off-season in Key West.
Here is a list of those who are shutting down temporarily or taking a vacation/break in 2025 that I am aware of. Many establishments will remain open, so you needn’t worry too much.
Restaurant Closings for Slow Season 2025
Milagro Restaurant & Bar closed up shop July 25th at their Simonton location. They are excited to welcome you back in the Fall with their new location on Duval Street.
Eaton Good closed for the summer season in June and will remain so until October.
Thirsty Mermaid will be closed for the month of August. Exciting changes are promised ahead along with a well deserved break for the staff and a refresh of the menu and vibe.
Smokin’ Tuna Saloon shut down in 2024, has changed location, and is undergoing renovations. They will share news on their socials when they have their grand reopening.
Reopening’s for 2025
As places begin to open from their breaks I’ll post the details here.
